An attempted robbery took place at a Moreton-in-Marsh service station.

Gloucestershire Police are investigating after a masked man entered the Marsh Service Station on the A429 Stow Road at around 4.15am on Thursday (August 11).

CCTV images have been released in the hope of finding the offender.

He approached a member of staff and demanded he handed over money and cigarettes.

The staff member confronted him causing the offender to run off empty handed. He was not injured during the incident.

Although the offender’s face cannot be seen in the images, it is hoped that somebody recognises the clothing or saw this man in the area at the time.

He is described as white, around 5 foot 8, of a slim build, wearing a distinctive black hooded top with a red emblem on the front and a red stripe on the hood.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting incident number 34 of August 11.
