MUSIC will be at the centre of the 40th annual Cotswold Beer Festival this weekend.

The festival in Postlip, near Winchcombe, is the longest running beer festival in the same place in the UK.

The group Anything Goes with singer Linda Morris will play on Friday, July 22 while the Tewkesbury Town Band will perform at lunchtime on Saturday, July 23.

The Liberty Street Stompers will be swinging for the Saturday evening session in Postlip Hall's tithe barn.

Visitors can enjoy a family day on Saturday, bringing picnics to share on the lawn while taking advantage of a free bouncy castle, a face painter, an ice cream man.

There will also be a display of knightly swordsmanship by the Warwick Warriors sponsored by Goff's Brewery on the Saturday afternoon along with a locally sourced barbecue.

This year, 70 to 80 different brews will be on the beer list and a new cider marquee will offer 29 traditional ciders and perries, from local suppliers and further afield.

The festival runs from Friday, July 22 to Sunday, July 24.

A festival bus service from both Cheltenham and Winchcombe will run throughout the weekend and camping is also available for £5 for the whole weekend.

Designated drivers with a ticket for entry can get a free designated drivers pass which will allow them to drink free soft drinks throughout the session.

Tickets are available online at website cotswoldbeerfestival.com or from the Plaisterer's Arms in Winchcombe.
