PUPILS from Dormer House School in Moreton said a fond farewell at their end of year prize-giving ceremony.

Departing year six pupils were presented with the school's 'leavers trophies' and headteacher Alison Thomas said emotions at saying goodbye were mixed.

"In many cases, the children had been part of Dormer House for eight years, and were experiencing mixed feelings of joy, at having their achievements recognised in their final year, and sadness at the thought of leaving their friends, staff and much loved school environment," she said.

"The children have won individual awards for outstanding performance in the arts, the sciences, humanities and sports. At the same time we have rewarded their independence, determination and thoughtfulness."

The pupils have secured places at a variety of senior schools, including Chipping Campden School, the Cotswold School, Shipston, King's High, Kingham Hill and St. Edwards.
