THE world’s first team arm wrestling table will feature in four charity tournaments raising money for a local charity in the Cotswolds this weekend.

On Saturday July 2 at 3pm at Stow on the Wold Rugby Football Club, tournaments will be run for women, men, children and a mixed sex competition raising funds for Kate’s Home Nursing which provides free care to critically ill patients and those at the end of their lives.

Tember Tables have designed and built the worlds first TEAM arm wrestling table and teams will pit their combined strength against another team of three with trophies on offer for first, second and third in each category.

Mike Salf, the organiser of the event, hopes to raise over £200.

Mr Salf said: “Kate’s Home Nursing is fantastic, it just takes such a burden off the family. It is difficult enough as it is, but Kate’s takes as much of a burden off families as it can.

“We are all going to be in that situation where we are old or have an illness and you never know when you are going to need it so it is very important to support them.

“It is a very localised service so local people should support it.”

The event is sponsored by John Hackling Transport, Kingsbridge Inn, Bourton on the Water, Huntsman’s Quarries and Naunton Downs Golf Club.

Entry is £10 per adult team and £5 for a Children’s team U14, and they are looking for teams of three people to enter.
