NATIONAL hunt jockey Paddy Brennan will be offering tips and giving an insight into the Cheltenham Gold Cup from the eyes of a rider at a charity event in Ebrington.

Former Gold Cup winner, Brennan, who is being tipped as one of this year's favourites to win the Cup, has selected The Ebrington Arms’ annual Cotswold Preview Night as the venue where he will reveal his insider track knowledge and top tips for this year's Cheltenham winners.

The annual ticketed event on Monday March 14 is raising funds for two important charities this year. As usual funds will go to the Injured Jockey Fund a charity supported by Brennan and commentators on the night: Talksport Radio’s Rupert Bell and horse trainer Milton Harris, who both live locally.

The event will also raise money for Ebrington Parents' Group, an active group of parents who are fighting against the proposed closure of Ebrington Primary School.

Ebrington Arms owner Claire Alexander said: “The village comes alive for Race Week and the preview night is one of our favourite nights at the pub. I’m really glad to be supporting the Injured Jockey Fund as usual and Ebrington Parents' Group who are fighting to save our village school. Pubs and schools are the heart of any village and we must fight to keep it. We wish all of our customers the luck of the Irish at the races.

Tickets are £30 and include a three-course meal from a two AA rosette chef and £5 from every ticket goes to charity, plus there will be a raffle and live auction.

Tickets can be bought from the Ebrington Arms.
