A SLICE of birthday cake and a Champagne toast greeted customers to Warner's Budgens store in Broadway as the family-owned supermarket chain celebrated 10 years in the village.

Store owner Guy Warner met customers at the door on Saturday, February 6, with the sweet treat, specially baked and decorated by Silke Bruening from Cacao Bean in Moreton. Customers also received 10 per cent off the cost of their shopping while Taste Club Reward Card holders received 15 per cent off their bill at the till. As an extra thank you, 10 very lucky customers won their shopping for free.

“This is a really special day for Warner’s Budgens as Broadway is where our journey began,” said Guy Warner. "I’d like to thank all of our loyal customers for their support over the past decade and to the Broadway community who have really embraced us and all that we have to offer. I’m looking forward to continuing to develop these relationships over the next ten years or more."

The store also has outlets in Bidford, Moreton, Quedgeley and Tewkesbury and is due to open its latest shop in Winchcombe in late spring.
