COTSWOLD Riding for the Disabled stables had additional help for the day when a group from Yorkshire Building Society went along to give them a leg up.
The riding charity, based at the Jackie Brutton Riding School at Prestbury Park Racecourse, helps 180 riders from around the Cotswolds aged between three and 79, every week during term time. They are supported by 120 volunteers.
The volunteers from Yorkshire Building Society have helped to paint field shelters at the school as part of the society's volunteering programme which allows every colleague up to 31 hours’ paid leave to help out at a charity or good cause of their choice.
Gill Mould, trustee at Cotswold RDA, said: “There are always so many jobs that need doing, but finding the time is always challenging. "We are so grateful to the volunteers. It is so important that the shelters are regularly protected to ensure longevity and provide somewhere for our ponies to shelter from the weather, not just in the winter but also during the summer months. They were an amazing group and we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone at Yorkshire Building Society for supporting us.W
Clare Jennings, business development partner at Yorkshire Building Society, said: “It was a pleasure to be able to help and a privilege to meet some of their riders and volunteers who really are inspirational.”
