A HOST of local celebrities are helping celebrate Christmas in Churchill with a Katharine House Hospice fundraising concert - A Festive Celebration.

The evening will be a celebration of Christmas, with a variety of seasonal music from the talented Voice Box choir, including choral works such as Gaudete and Handel’s Joy to the World, traditional Christmas carols and timeless classics like White Christmas and I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm.

The evening is being held on Tuesday December 8 at 7.30pm at All Saints' Church, Churchill, near Chipping Norton.

Local celebrities, including Jane Booker, Lynn Farleigh, Sue Cook, Denise Bryer, Paul Greenwood and Claire Nielson will treat the audience to a fabulous medley of readings; from the story of Christmas and thought-provoking poems to an hilarious Joyce Grenfell monologue.

Both the Voice Box choir and celebrities have donated their time free of charge so all the money raised will benefit hospice care at Katharine House.

Tickets are £20 each, including refreshments, and are available by calling the fundraising department on 01295 816484 or by downloading an application form from the Katharine House Hospice website at www.khh.org.uk.

Katharine House Hospice provides specialist palliative care to those in need in the local community.

All of its services are free of charge to patients and their families. This year the cost of providing these services will be £3.6 million, of which the Hospice must raise £2.5 million - £6,900 per day - itself, from voluntary sources and fundraising campaigns.
