A CHIPPING Campden woman is heading for South Africa in January for an eight-month volunteering project.

Imogen Kropf is going through the charity Project Trust and will be teaching pupils aged four to 17 art and music at a school in Lady Grey, Eastern Cape.

"The school provides an education in all the arts as well as the core curriculum. It is a relatively rural school with students coming from many surrounding villages which prides itself on allowing anyone to attend the school regardless of their income or background.

"Project Trust have been sending volunteers overseas for nearly 50 years so are incredible experienced in what they do. They ensure sustainable projects are found who really need the help and the volunteers are able to bring fresh skills so as not to take work away from the locals. I have a passion for music and art so this is an amazing opportunity to share my enthusiasm for the subjects," she said.

Miss Kropt is raising the £5,200 to take part and is hosting a dinner party at the Kings Hotel, Chipping Campden, tonight, Wednesday November 12.

She recently climbed Mount Snowdon in a tutu and wings to raise money.
