SPECTACULAR autumn colour has arrived at Batsford Arboretum, near Moreton in Marsh.

Staff say the recent cold nights have helped to create the leafy seasonal show.

Head Gardener, Matthew Hall said: "It is hoped that, providing we continue to have warm daytime temperatures and cold, clear nights over the next week or so, we will continue to experience a slightly earlier, more intense autumn than in recent years, adding to the beautiful sights and smells of the season.

"Berries are plentiful too, with Pink Pagoda and Rosa moyesii leading the way”.

The 56-acre arboretum is home to one of the largest private collections of trees and shrubs in the country.

A "show show-stopping display of reds, golds and yellows" is expected until mid-November.

Batsford is open Monday-Saturday from 9am to 5pm and 10am to 5pm on Sundays.
