A LECTURE on “Rag-dolls to Robots: a World History of Toys" by Chloe Sayer is the topic of conversation at the Cotswolds Decorative and Fine Arts Society's meeting on October 14.

Many of the toys we know today were played with in ancient times. Now, as in the past, toys enable children to understand and interpret the environment around them while exploring their inner, imaginative worlds.

Chloe Sayer is a fellow of the Royal Anthropological Institute, the author of numerous books and has worked on a number of television documentaries for Channel 4 and the BBC.

Lectures take place at Bradwell Village Hall, Burford, and begin at 11am with coffee and tea available from 10.15am to10.45am. Non-members are very welcome (suggested donation £8). For more information see the website: www.cotswolddfas.org.uk
