MONEY-saving stalwarts in Sedgeberrow are expanding their oil-buying club where residents in the district can enjoy cheaper central heating oil.

SeSaME Oil Buying Club, (Sedgeberrow Sustainable and Manageable Energy) has recently expanded to five further villages of Childswickham, Conderton, Elmley Castle, Kemerton and Overbury taking their overall village participants up to 12 and with an individual membership of 140 residents.

"Between October and March last winter, members benefitted from savings of around £5,000. As our membership grows so does our buying power. Even though oil prices have dropped the club still saves its members 10 per cent on market rates. The club aims to reach 200 members by winter's end," said club manager Mike Parker.

He said it is a win/win situation for both buyers and sellers as oil distribution companies can organise their deliveries better and more efficiently the more people join the scheme.

To become a member and take advantage of the savings you need to register at http://sesame.oilbuyingclub.com. It only takes a few minutes to register and as the club grows the savings available will grow too.

In February the club placed orders for 34 members totalling 28,650 litres with a saving of 5.48 pence per litre.

The next deadline for placing an order is 11pm on Sunday September 13
