FOSSEWAY garden centre father and daughter duo Tim and Poppy Godwin have returned victorious from their gruelling John O' Groats to Land's End cycle ride in support of two local charities.

The pair, along with family friend Harry Preston, 17, from Yorkshire, covered 90 miles per day for the 970-mile long journey which has seen their efforts realise £10,000 which will be split between the Midlands Air Ambulance Service and the Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group in memory of Toti Worbouys, who died last year, aged 11 years old. The Worboys family lived and worked at Daylesford for some years.

A fund raising party was held at the garden centre in March organised by Poppy, 20, which raised £5,000.

The cyclists stopped off in the Godwin's home town of Moreton on their way down the country, and were greeted in the town centre by locals and staff from their Fosseway Garden Centre, before staying a night at home.

Tim's wife, Gill, and son, Ollie, acted as support crew, transferring cyclists and their bikes to their overnight accommodation, which was provided by friends and family throughout the entire length of the country.

This epic journey was the brainchild of Poppy, who is already looking for her next challenge. She said: "We were incredibly lucky with the weather, and only had one puncture on the journey. It was a fantastic experience."

Tim Godwin, owner of Fosseway Garden Centre and his daughter Poppy, aged 20 years old and her friend Harry Preston, from Yorkshire, aged 17 years old, will be heading north with their bikes, next week, in preparation for cycling from John O’ Groats to Lands End. They are planning to cycle 90 miles a day, and hope to reach Land’s End in 12 days.

They are raising money for The Air Ambulance and Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group in memory of Toti Worbouys, who died last year, aged 11 years old. The Worboys family lived and worked at Daylesford for some years. A fund raising party was held at the Garden Centre in March. Poppy Godwin commented "we have already raised over £5,000 and would like to thank all those that have so generously supported us."

The intrepid threesome start their journey on the 18th August, and if all goes to plan, will be cycling through Moreton in Marsh during the late afternoon, on Tuesday 25th August, as they make their way south.

Poppy is known for her flock of pedigree Zwartbles Sheep, which she keeps at the Garden Centre, and many of her ‘sheepy friends’ will be providing accommodation along the way.

Garden centre owner and daughter cycle 940 miles for Totti.

12 days of cycling for a father and daughter team, and a friend, has resulted in the intrepid trio raising in excess of £10,000 for the Air Ambulance and Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group, in memory of Tori Worboys.

Tim Godwin, his daughter, Poppy and her friend Harry Preston from Yorkshire, cycled from John O' Groats to Lands End, finishing on Saturday, 29th August, cycling about 90 miles a day. They totalled 940 miles, spending in excess of 80 hours in the saddle.

The "JOGLE" cyclists stopped off in the Godwin's home town of Moreton in Marsh on their way down the country, and were greeted in the town centre by locals and staff from their Fosseway Garden Centre, before staying a night at home.

Tim's wife Gill, and son, Ollie, acted as Support crew, transferring cyclists and their bikes to their overnight accommodation, which was provided by friends and family throughout the entire length of the country.
