CAMPERS who stayed on a campsite in Moreton have vowed never to return after a mid-field row between the owner over a shower.

Vikkie Richmond, from Warwick, and her fiance, David, booked for two nights on August 19 and 20 at Fosseway Farm bed and breakfast and campsite.

But an argument between owner Alf Glazebrook and Miss Richmond got heated on the first day after Miss Richmond was accused of flooding an adjacent toilet block.

Miss Richmond said she was taking a shower and noticed the shower head was spraying water in all directions but left it in the position she had found it.

"Having finished showering, I could hear people outside the cubicle so assumed there was a queue and rushed out to continue drying my feet in public to allow someone else to shower during this time. However, it was the site owner and his wife complaining the toilet next door had flooded again for the third time that day, with a mop and bucket in hand, cleaning up the mess.

"I then had to go to the vacant toilet at the end when I heard the couple start to complain about the “young girl moving the shower head".

"During the time in the toilet, I was being falsely accused of someone wrecking a toilet with no proof, despite them admitting it had happened three times that morning. At this point, I felt it was fair to say it sounded like they had an issue with their shower and they need to either block the top gap or put up a note to warn others that they are not fit for purpose. This way people can accommodate it.

"They then insisted they’d never had a problem for the last 18 years and that it must have been me. I took a photograph of the shower head spurting water all over the place and into the adjacent toilet block to prove it was faulty. I said we were leaving and asked for our money back for the second night, which we got," said Miss Richmond.

She said she was embarrassed to have been accused of 'disrespecting property' in the middle of the campsite by Mr Glazebrook and he had continued to talk over her as she tried to explain. She said there was also no sign anywhere stating the shower head was faulty and should not be moved.

"When we paid for our Caravanning and Camping Club membership at the beginning of the year, we expected quality and good service which we have received exactly this until this stay.

"I feel this site does not fit any of this criteria nor should be recommended to anyone and hope that a full investigation is taken up on this site to determine it’s future on the CCC list."

Mr Glazebrook said he too have been in contact with the CCC about Miss Richmond's 'behaviour'.

"After owning this site for 19 years I have not seen this type of behaviour. We treat people the way we expect to be treated ourselves. Over the years we have received many, many thanks for the help we have given to others. We do not expect to be spoken to or sworn at by anyone. This is the first time I have asked anyone to leave our site in 19 years."
