THERE is plenty of family entertainment in the Cotswold this Bank Holiday Weekend and Birdland at Bourton is no exception with new hatchlings to add to the excitement.
Families have been enjoying the new Jurassic Journey themed area as well as watching keepers feed the ever popular penguins at 11am and 2.30pm. Visitors also get to learn about their care.
Birdland has expert keepers who know all about their feathered friends. Look out for the 'Meet a Keeper' station in the park and learn something new.
Head to the hatchery to see the eggs in incubation and meet the newest additions to the Birdland family as they hatch. Summer is the perfect time to meet the babies. Newly hatched are a pair of White Necked Crane chicks – the first crane chicks to hatch at Birdland.
Become a perch for a parrot and get up close to some of the Birdland residents. The petting area of the Close Encounters zone means that you can meet tortoises and cuddle the bunnies.
Enjoy lunch at Flamingo Point Cafe or enjoy a picnic by the flamingo river and watch the colourful wading birds being fed.
