A FATHER and daughter team from Moreton will be heading to Scotland next week in preparation for their cycle ride from John O'Groats to Land's End.

Tim Godwin, owner of Fosseway Garden Centre, and his daughter Poppy, aged 20, will meet up along the route with Poppy's friend, 17-year-old Harry Preston, from Yorkshire, who will be cycling with them.

The journey south, which will be over 1,000 miles in total, begins on August 18 and the group hope to complete 90 miles each day and reach Land's End 12 days later.

They are fundraising for both the Midland Air Ambulance charity and the Toti Worboys Memorial Fund; Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group.

Toti, whose family lived at Daylesford, died last year from leukaemia, aged 11. The money raised for the group in his memory will go towards research in his name.

The group hopes to raise £8,000 and Poppy has already raised a substantial amount through a party she held at the garden centre in March.

"We have already raised over £5,000 and would like to thank all those that have so generously supported us," she said.

If all goes to plan, the trio should be cycling through Moreton during the late afternoon of Tuesday August 25.

Poppy is known for her flock of pedigree Zwartbles sheep which she keeps at the garden centre and many of her 'sheepy' friends will be providing accommodation along the way/
