TEN days in the saddle for an epic cycle ride from John O'Groats to Land's End has resulted in a Broadway GP and his son raising more than £4,000 for the village library.
Dr Neil Townshend and his son, Ian, arrived at the southern tip of Cornwall on June 12 saying it was a 'wonderful experience."
The pair self-funded the trip and carried all their own equipment. They thank all their sponsors for their generosity.
They money their raised will to towards the newly-formed Broadway Community Library charitable trust. The trust is responsible for running Broadway library which needs between £10,000 and £12,000 each year to keep open.
The library was at risk of closure and it is only through the work of the trust over the past 18 months that the village and surrounding district still has a viable, fully functioning library. The library is a vital resources for young and old delivering services across both printed and electronic media.
