THE classroom moved outdoors for youngsters at Dormer House School who spent the day looking at nature with fishing nets, binoculars, spades and magnifying glasses.
The young naturalists spent time in fields around the school and then went back into class to share tales of their observations and discoveries, drew pictures and looked up their discoveries in books.
“Every week our nursery children spend an afternoon exploring the outdoors in our hugely popular ‘field fun’ lessons. Many of our topics in class this year have been taken from the children’s interests derived from these outings. We go out in all weathers and often return very muddy but always with smiles on our faces," said nursery manager Jane McPherson.
