TRADITIONAL village fun with stalls and attractions takes place at Temple Guiting on Saturday as the village holds its annual fete.

Organiser Sophia Upton said: “The Temple Guiting fete is proving to be one of the Cotswolds’ most popular summer events, as we offer traditional village fete sideshows at pocket money prices. Bring a picnic rug or pull up a hay bale - and enjoy our stunning Cotswold views.”The ever popular fun dog show has plenty of rosettes up for grabs, and there’s also dog agility, so bring your pooches. This year we’re also offering pony rides.

Refreshments include a traditional tea-room, a BBQ using locally sourced produce, ice-lollies and a beer and Pimms bar. Chill out to live jazz from The Cotswold School band "Back in Black".

Other favourites are the bottle and plant stalls, bric-a-brac, raffle, tombola, welly-wanging, coconut shy and skittles. And the “Human fruit machine” is said to have to be seen to be believed.

Children are well catered for, with a bouncy castle, pre-school activity area, face painting, and loads of room to run around.

The fete is well known for its many bright tents and gazebos, which along with the village hall, also help to provide shelter, should it rain.

The fete takes place on the green, next to the village hall with all proceeds going to the village hall and Temple Guiting school.
