WHERE’S Wally?, a favourite children’s book character in striped shirt and black-rimmed specs is once again travelling the country, including a visit to ten different local businesses in Chipping Campden.

Launching at the beginning of Independent Bookshop Week, the campaign runs from June 20 to July 25. Those who find him can win prizes, including stickers, books and more.

Anyone who wishes to participate can pick up a “Find Wally” search list with the names of all the businesses, and collect an “I found Wally” card when they spot Wally. Collecting cards and handing them in at A Festival of Books will win Wally stickers and an entry for other, larger prizes to be drawn at a Where’s Wally? party on July 25. The grand prize includes a copy of Where’s Wally? The Spectacular Poster Book and a copy of Where’s Wally Now? Deluxe edition presented in a limited edition Where’s Wally? bag.

Wally is the creation of Martin Handford, whose entertaining drawings of crowd scenes swept the globe in 1987. Since then, the Where’s Wally? books have held a favourite spot on bookstore shelves the world over. Published by Walker Books, over 60 million copies have been sold worldwide in over 38 countries and 30 languages, including Egyptian, Korean and Hebrew.
