A SPROUTING willow dome has proved the perfect setting for nursery children at Dormer House to enjoy the outdoors when the weather is sunny.

They have been spending time in their newly developed White Roses garden and have enjoyed reading stories under the willow dome, exploring mini beasts and tadpoles, and planting wild flowers and vegetables in the patch.

Dormer’s upper school children worked in the garden before the Easter break. Andy Trafford, deputy head of Dormer House School, built the willow dome during the Easter holidays for the children to enjoy on their return to school for the summer term. The Dormer Parents’ Association then took time out of their weekend to make the garden look neat and tidy.

Dormer’s headmistress Alison Thomas said: “It is wonderful to see the Dormer children enjoying the beautiful garden and our Cotswold stone courtyard with the colour of the plants and the scent of the herb garden. It has been a real team effort with children, parents and staff working together to achieve a wonderful outdoor environment for everyone to enjoy through the summer and beyond.”
