AN internationally acclaimed singer and musician who has even caught the attention of BBC Radio Two broadcaster Aled Jones, is appearing at Westcote Village Hall.

Sarah MacQuaid entertains her audience with cheeky banter and stories from the road, as well as with brilliant musicianship with the guitar.

Her musical output reflects her own eclectic background: born in Spain, raised in Chicago, holds dual US and Irish citizenship, and now lives in rural Cornwall.

Refusing to be 'pigeon-holed', she spans the genres with beautifully crafted originals and interpretations of material from around the globe and down the centuries.

Aled Jones has been heard to say Sarah is 'likely to make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck'.

Her third album 'The Plum Tree and The Rose' won critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic. Her latest album 'Walking Into White' was released earlier this month.

She has performed widely in UK, USA, Ireland and Europe. She is also known for her use of DADGAD tuning and is the author of The Irish DADGAD Guitar Book.

The concert takes place on Friday February 27 at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £12 each and can be booked by ringing 01993 831196.
