AN auction and raffle in celebration of Scottish bard Robert Burns has raised £900 for Cotswold North Volunteers and Campden Edge charities.

The money was raised at a Burns' supper by Chipping Campden and District Rotary Club and held at the Cotswold House Hotel.

Rotary chairman Gary White addressed the haggis and proposed the "toast to the lassies". The "response from the lassies" was made by Keyna Doran, co founder of Campden Edge, a local charity set up jointly by Keyna with Vanessa Rigg of Creative Cows Campden Ltd and Bespoke Hotels to fund less advantaged young people in the locality.

The toast to the immortal memory of Robert Burns was proposed by David Hallett. Brian MacDonald was the piper, playing before the meal and piping in the haggis in traditional style.

After dinner entertainment was led by Fiona Thurburn-Huelin and Chris Anderson.
