POLICE swooped on a house in Bourton-on-the-Water and arrested a man on suspicion of drugs offences.

A total of 14 officers and two police dogs carried out a warrant at the property at about 9am on Friday, January 16 and seized substances suspected to be drugs.

A team of eight PCs, two sergeants, two community support officers and a pair of dog handlers knocked on the door before going inside the house without having to force entry and carried out their search.

A 33-year-old man was arrested for possession with intent to supply a Class B drug and has been bailed to return to Gloucester Police Station on Thursday, March 5 pending further enquiries.

Sergeant Rich Payne said neighbours had raised concerns with police after seeing strangers frequently coming and going from the house.

“It’s an absolute win-win,” he said.

“We got the information from concerned local people – this is the result of them working with us.

“It’s the community that takes the credit, not us.”

Any suspected drug dealing can be reported to police on 101, or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
