A SECOND pantivity - a cross between a pantomime and a nativity - is being organised for Tysoe and district because of last year's success.
Rev Dawn Saunders, Methodist Minister for Tysoe and the surrounding villages, is staging "A Donkey’s Tale" at Back Lane Farm just off Tysoe High Street on Saturday December 20 at 4.45pm.
More than 300 people attended last year’s pantivity which proved so popular, demand has grown for a second one.
Mrs Saunders explained: “The idea came about when I decided to stage a live, interactive nativity show in the village and it just grew and grew.”
She will act as the narrator, accompanied by Rev Barry Jackson and Rev Martin Leaton, Anglican colleagues from Kineton and Tysoe respectively, and the audience are encouraged to dress up as characters from the nativity and join in whenever the sheep, stars, wise men, shepherds or angels are required.
“We involve lots of animals in the show too including some sheep from the farm to assist the shepherds and a lovely Shetland called Stan, who has to pretend to be a donkey.
“The audience have to ‘follow the stars’ from Tysoe High Street to find their way to the farm and then sit on bales of hay to enjoy the show.
“It’s become a real community affair with everyone giving a helping hand to make the event a success. It really does make people understand the true religious meaning of Christmas and lots of people said last year it made Christmas come alive for them.”
Refreshments will be severed afterwards in the Village Hall.
