THERE were cheers all round when a popular Broadway event was presented with an award as a tourist attraction.
Following the successful Broadway Arts Festival in June the organisers were delighted when it was awarded highly commended in the 2014 Worcestershire Awards for Excellence.
The biennial event, which has been held three times, came runner up in the best festival and events category.
In 2014 the main feature of the event was a popular exhibition by festival inspiration , John Singer Sargent.
Sonia Woolven, the festival director for the next Broadway Arts Festival in 2016, said she was "delighted" the event has received this award from Destination Worcestershire.
The Broadway Arts Festival will now compete in the VisitEngland Awards.
