YOUNG Enterpreneurs at Shipston High School are to be put through their paces next week as they are tasked to come up with ideas for setting up their own business.

The event takes place in the school hall and will involve Year 7 students working with local business people to complete an enterprise challenge.

The focus of the event is to develop effective communication, teamwork, time management, problem solving and presentation skills.

Businesses recognise the importance of this type of school engagement and the experience is beneficial for themselves and for the students.

Some of the businesses supporting the event include: Genesis DM, Barclays, Commelius, Possage Limited, Cotswold Dragons and Mail on Sunday.

Shipston Town Mayor, Philip Vial will also be in attendance to hear the students’ ideas and to see their work. He said: I'm excited to be part of this inspirational day that will give young people ideas about alternatives to traditional employment as well as a better understanding of business."

A panel of judges will select the team which develops the most viable and interesting business plan on the day.

The day is developed and delivered by Maffey Associates who provide opportunities for young people to learn about business to help better prepare them for the world of work.
