VISITORS to a farm in Chipping Norton this Halloween are guaranteed a nightmare evening.

The lights will be turned down while a monk takes brave visitors through a giant outdoor horror maze and live actors leap from the darkness to test their bravery.

Once in the maze visitors will meet a possessed flower seller, vampires, zombies and scary scarecrows as well as a very unfriendly clown, plus some other surprises.

The event at Fairytale Farm, is aimed at older children and adults and is based around the legend of Southcombe Abbey that is said to have stood on the site of Fairytale Farm.

Farm owner Nick Laister said he held the event last year and feedback was so good that he decided to make this year's bigger and better. People are challenged to make it from one end to the other without screaming. He adds that while actors will be trying their best to scare everyone, they will not touch anyone.

The walks will take place every 20 minutes between 6.30pm and 10pm on October 31 and November 1 and 2.

As the evening event is not suitable for young children the farm is putting on child-friendly Halloween fun from 10am to 5pm with free games and activities.
