THE Ashmolean Museum in Broadway will be holding a talk with village artist Jeremy Houghton, whose current exhibition of his 10 Year retrospective is on display on the top floor of the museum.

The talk, which will be held next month, will be in conversation with Jim Brook, the curator of the exhibition.

Mr Houghton has had a diverse career and was commissioned to paint HM Queen Elizabeth and was one of the official artists of the London 2012 Olympics.

His exhibition at The Ashmolean Museum Broadway showcases his diverse range of techniques and styles.

Curator of the exhibition filmmaker and performance director Mr Brook, said: "Jeremy’s paintings work through retelling images from photographs, evoking a sense of change and constancy. Central to their meanings is the air that surrounds the paintings which are full of memories and stories."

House Manager of the Ashmolean Museum Broadway, Rachel Coltman, added: "The Ashmolean Museum Broadway is delighted to have local Broadway artist Jeremy Houghton’s 10 year retrospective exhibition on display.

"His talk will allow our visitors to find out more about his background, techniques, accomplishments and challenges."

The talk will take place at the Ashmolean Museum Broadway on the High Street in Broadway on Saturday , October 11, at 5pm.
