THIEVES broke into a supermarket in an early-morning raid.
The Sainsbury’s supermarket, in Market Street, Chipping Norton, was targeted yesterday (Monday) in what Thames Valley Police described as a “smash and grab” raid.
Offenders made their way into the store and stole a large quantity of cigarettes from behind the till, before fleeing the scene.
A staff member at the shop confirmed the raid had happened in the "early hours" of the morning.
Thames Valley Police is investigating the incident. PC Simon Warn said: “I would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the Chipping Norton area at this time, who may be able to provide us with information about this incident.
“Did you see anyone around the area acting suspiciously or anyone leaving the area? If so, then please get in touch as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should call 101. Details can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
