WASTE collections will continue as normal in the Cotswold district on August bank holiday Monday.

There will be scheduled collections of household waste, recycled materials, and food or garden waste on Monday, August 25 even though it is a public holiday.

Scott Williams of the Gloucestershire Joint Waste Team said: “The waste contractor, Ubico Ltd, will be working as normal and – as usual - residents scheduled for a collection on August Bank Holiday Monday should present their waste and recycling at the kerbside by 7am at the latest on that day.

"We tend to see a lot of people hosting barbeques over this long weekend so it’s worth reminding residents how much we appreciate it when they take full advantage of our kerbside recycling facilities to dispose of items such as drinks cans and plastic food containers.”
