THE Commonwealth games may have finished for another four years, but a nursery near Shipston has re-created its own version.
Children at Winchcombe Farm Day Nursery, in Upper Tysoe, held their own mini version of the games by holding running races, making salt dough medals, playing table tennis and even dabbling in a spot of weightlifting.
The children had a daily activity planned for the duration of the games to allow them to sample some of the sports that are played and to celebrate them.
Rachel Giorgio, Winchcombe Farm Day Nursery manager, said the most popular activity was running races.
"We had a temporary race track set up in our paddock and the children all had great fun taking part," she said. "We even made our own salt dough medals that the children got to take home to show their proud mums and dads.”
