LIVE storytelling will be brought to life in Stow with a new Sunday afternoon tea and tales event.

Starting on Sunday, August 10, Chloë, of the Midnight Storytellers, will be telling stories from the heritage of the Cotswolds and the whole of Britain in The Burrow Cafe, Sheep Street, at 4pm.

People can expect tales of ghostly highwaymen, scary trees and the dramatic legend of the Rollright Stones circle over a cuppa and a piece of cake.

The storyteller said: “If you like tales of dark deeds and intrigue, or if you’re touring the Cotswolds, you’ll love Sunday Tea & Tales at The Burrow. This is real storytelling, intended mainly for grown-ups and not suitable for toddlers.

"I’m telling an exciting mix of Cotswold tales and beautiful but nearly forgotten legends of Britain. The Burrow café is really cosy and pretty - and the home made cakes are delicious.

“For the first few Sundays this won’t be a ticketed event. Just come and join me for a cuppa and cake at 4pm, and I’ll perform an hour of stories starting around 4.20pm.

"All I ask is that people make a contribution based genuinely on what they can afford and what they think the show is worth. It’s the most delightful and civilised way to enjoy Sunday afternoon in the Cotswolds.”

Chloë, of the Midnight Storytellers, is taking her popular children’s storytelling persona of Agent Green the Dragon Whisperer back to Sudeley Castle on Wednesdays in August. For details, visit midnightstorytellers.co.uk.
