THE Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) has launched an appeal to raise £40,000 to cover the cost of essential pain relief.

Covering a population of more than 1.5 million people, WNAA treats hundreds of patients in Warwickshire every year, the majority of whom require on the spot pain relief as soon as the helicopter arrives.

The Charity is now encouraging people to donate to its Pain Relief Appeal so that its highly-skilled paramedics and doctors can continue to provide advanced pain relief and ease the discomfort of those in greatest need.

In the last 12 months, WNAA has been called to 233 incidents in the county which is more than a quarter of its total missions.

Daniel Evans, critical care paramedic with the Charity, said: “Many of our patients are in severe pain when we reach them. If you or your loved one was in that situation, you would want the pain to stop immediately.

“Administering immediate pain relief patients is a priority in almost all emergency situations we tackle. It enable us to provide treatment and perform procedures much more easily.

"We rely solely on public donations to help fund this important pain relief. We need people to support our Pain Relief Appeal so that we can continue to provide medical expertise, medicine and equipment to those who desperately need it.”
