AN appeal has gone out to 20 houses in Moreton who are entitled to protection from flooding.

The Environment Agency has awarded a £70,000 grant for property level protection for 20 houses in the town which are most likely to be affected by flooding.

But Councillor Ruth Winder, vice-chairman of Moreton Town Council, told members at Monday night’s meeting that despite letters being sent out by Cotswold District Council, they still had not received replies.

“We would like residents to come forward to take their benefit of property level protection and protect their properties,” she said. “The letters have been sent out but they haven’t had 20 responses back.”
