PLANS for two new homes in Moreton have been supported by the town council.

Cotswold District Council is considering plans for the new houses at Blue Cedar House, Stow Road, which include the removal of the existing southern driveway and parking and provision of a turning courtyard and parking.

Councillor Steve Pomeroy said to town councillors at Monday night’s meeting he could not find any planning reasons to oppose the application.

“There has been quite a lot of pre-application discussion,” he said. “Originally it looked like a far more substantial application where originally they were looking at nine dwellings.

“Blue Cedar will now remain and there will be a property at the front and a bungalow behind.”

Councillor Ali Coggins said: “It has been a B&B previously. It’s clearly capable of dealing with that number of vehicles coming in and out. There’s plenty of parking spaces. It’s a bungalow, we need bungalows in Moreton.”
