A MOBILE police unit with a camera could be stationed in Bourton to catch speeding drivers.

Councillor Richard Vann, who runs speed watch in the village, told members of the parish council at a meeting this month that after seven sessions over 10 days, their "greatest concern" was speeding in Rissington Road.

"There was one car doing 48mph over taking a car on a bend," he said. "Another car was doing 51mph. It's my intention to work with PC Page and try and get a proper police presence down there and maybe a mobile unit with a camera.

"There hasn't been any major incidents down there but I think it's only a matter of time."

He added that when they carried out speed watch, both outbound and inbound on Rissington Road were a "major issue."
