YOUNGSTERS at a Cotswold nursery were put through their paces by a solider from MOD Kineton on a mini army assault course, as part of the nursery’s Armed Forces Day celebrations.
Children at Winchcombe Farm Day Nursery, in Upper Tysoe, near Shipston, were also treated to a street party and made Union Jack flags to mark the annual event.
Rachel Giorgio, Winchcombe Farm Day Nursery manager, said: "Armed Forces Day is a chance for us to say thank you to the men and women who make up the armed forces family for their unstinting courage and dedication.
“Some of the children in nursery have serving parents so it’s important that we mark this occasion. "Corporal Doyle did a wonderful job helping the children complete of mini army assault course and they really enjoyed the challenge.”
The event was one of hundreds to mark the sixth annual Armed Forces Day on Saturday (June 28) which raises public awareness of the contribution made to the country by those who serve and have served in the Armed Forces.
It also gives people an opportunity to show their support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community.
