VISITORS to Sudeley Castle will be in for a surprise this week when they see the newest arrivals.

The attraction in Winchcombe has welcomed a herd of alpacas to its grounds and is offering visitors the chance to take them on a trek around the surroundings of the estate.

Starting today (Monday), the one hour treks will be hosted by South House Alpacas on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Visitors will be introduced to their very own fluffy friend, choosing one of seven alpacas Barney, Oscar, Mawgan, Mr C, Mo, Larry and Curly.

Sian Jocelyn, visitor services manager at Sudeley Castle & Gardens, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to offer visitors the chance to walk these beautiful and gentle animals and see glorious views of the castle from afar."

Treks cost £25 per adult, £20 per child, and £75 for a family or £43.50 for an 'Alpackage' combining admission to the castle with a trek and a cream tea.

Spaces are limited and treks can be pre-booked on 01242 604 244.
