CHILDREN across the Cotswolds will not be short of things to do during the summer holidays with a range of events across the district over the entire holiday period.

Cotswold District Council, in partnership with World Jungle, is offering the 2014 ‘Summer off the Streets’ programme which provides activities for children of all abilities to have fun, learn some skills and make new friends.

There are many free activities including a fun day at QE11 field, Stow, on Tuesday, August 5, and the park in Chipping Campden on Tuesday, August 12 along with Wild cooking with Play Gloucestershire in Mickleton playing field on Tuesday, August 19.

There are plenty of other paid-for attractions youngsters can enjoy including Cool Drawing on Friday, August 15 from 2pm to 4pm at Moreton Area Centre and Funky Fashion on Tuesday, August 19 10am to noon in the Youth Centre, Fosseway, Stow.

Jane Manning, from creative arts and community organisation World Jungle who is managing this summer’s programme, said: “This is a fantastic year for the Summer off the Streets programme, building on the success of previous years.

"We have listened to feedback and tried to put on more activities that people have asked for and have ensured that we cover venues across the Cotswold District.

"There are lots of free events for families to just turn up and enjoy, together with a programme of reasonably priced workshops that require booking.

"These do tend to fill up quickly, so I would urge everyone to look at the brochure and book your spaces as soon as possible.”
