YOUNGSTERS at a Broadway school enjoyed a touch of the Mediterranean when they learnt how to make pizzas at an Italian restaurant.

Children from Year 4 at St Mary's Catholic Primary School spent the mornings at Prego, in the village, as part of their Pizza Week learning how to make pizzas before creating their own.

They were then pitched to owner Barry Hancox and the chef at Prego in a Dragons Den-style before the winning pizza was announced.

Joshua Smith and George Brett's ham, chicken, chilli flakes and pepperoni creation, 'Volcanic madness' will now be put on the menu at Prego for people to enjoy.

Head of School Sarah Munn said: "It is a fantastic opportunity for the children to learn a range of skills. The class really enjoyed the opportunity to visit Prego and learn how to make the pizza's in their restaurant.

"It is our second year of working with Barry and the team. We are very grateful to the whole Prego team for giving us a fantastic opportunity."
