TWO benches are set to be installed in the centre of Chipping Norton in memory of two much-loved residents.
The benches will be put in the town square in honour of highly-respected former mayor, Rob Evans, who died from cancer last September, and Mike Howes, who lost his battle with Leukaemia in February.
Mr Howes did much for the town including the role of district councillor for eight years and founded and ran Chippy Jazz for 14 years.
Both men were made honorary citizens of the town for their tireless work in the community.
The idea to donate two benches to the town in their memory followed a request by Mr Howes' family.
Mayor Mike Tysoe said they would replace two of the older benches already in the square which would be refurbished and moved to a new location.
