PRAISE has been heaped on the Shipston Wool Fair which took place last month.
This year's event held on May 26 saw 20 different breeds of sheep in their pens - a record number for the fair - along with live shearing demonstrations and competitions.
Town councillor Ronnie Murphy, who is vice-chairman of the organising committee, told fellow members at Monday night's council meeting it was a "great success".
Councillor Fay Ivens also paid tribute to the event held: "I would like to congratulate the Wool Fair Committee for putting on a wonderful event despite the weather," she added.
