CASH and a passport was stolen from an elderly man in a distraction burglary in Chipping Norton.
A door-to-door sales man visited the man in West Street on Sunday, June 1 selling cleaning products and garden equipment.
At 4pm the following day, the man was visited again by two different men selling the same items, one asked to use the toilet and the occupant let him in.
The thief then stole an amount of cash from the kitchen and the man’s passport.
The first salesman is described as white man, aged about 30, about 5ft 8ins tall and wearing a blue cap, grey trousers and dark leather jacket.
The first of the two subsequent men who stole from the man is described as white, in his late thirties about 6ft, with short straight dark hair and wearing grey trousers and a blue jacket.
The second was a white man, about 30, with straight dark hair and wearing black trousers and a black top.
PC Steven Bates, from Witney police station, said: “We are appealing for any witnesses that may have seen these men going door to door in the Chipping Norton area or any suspicious behaviour or activity, "Please contact me through the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 101.”
