A CAR was stolen while on a test drive in Chipping Norton and never returned.

The electric blue Ford Fiesta Zetec TDCi three door car was taken by a man and woman who asked to take it on a test drive at Wheelers Car Sales, Banbury Road, at 3.30pm on Thursday, May 29.

The dark silver Audi A3 convertible they arrived in was driven away by a third person after the theft.

The man is described as white, about 5ft 4in, of a medium build, about 30-years-old with short cropped spiked blonde hair and the woman is white, about 5ft 3in and slim, with long black hair.

They both spoke with Welsh accents.

PC Henry Gillingham, from Witney police station, said: “We would like to make other dealerships aware of this theft and ask them to make sure they do not allow people to take vehicles out on test drives without being accompanied by staff.

“In this case the suspects handed over false driving licences so be on your guard when checking identification.

"Also check the keys returned following a test drive still work with that vehicle. Check you can see the vehicle they have arrived in and if you feel anything is suspicious call 101.

“If you recognise the description of the couple or have any information about the theft, please contact PC Gillingham via the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 101."
