VIEWERS will find out this week if Cotswold pub owner Emily Watkins has won the finals of BBC Two programme, Great British Menu.

The chef, who runs the Kingham Plough, near Chipping Norton, was chosen to represent the south west region in the finals of the competition after a week of heats which aired in April.

The 34-year-old beat stiff competition from Michelin-starred chefs Dominic Chapman and Josh Eggleton, with her menu which goes on culinary journey through the war with a bit of French influence.

Starting this evening from 7pm to 8pm and continuing every day this week, Emily will be competing against eight of the countries top chefs to be in with a chance of cooking at a huge banquet marking the 70th anniversary of D Day on Friday.

Only four of these chefs will get the honour to go to St Pauls Cathedral to cook at the special banquet where each will take on either the starter, fish course, main or dessert.

Viewers will find out on Friday, who will be feeling the heat in the kitchen to mark the occasion.
