HUNDREDS of runners tackled obstacles, water and mud in a Monster race event around the Cornbury Park estate.

Teams of colleagues, groups of friends and families took on either the 5K Monster in training route or the full 10K Monster route on May 17 with many raising money for children’s and young adults’ hospice, Helen & Douglas House which supports families in Chipping Norton.

Kate Sankey, Community Fundraiser for Helen & Douglas House, said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that took part in the Monster Race in support of Helen & Douglas House.

"It was fantastic to see them get stuck into such a fun challenge. We need to raise £5million a year to provide vital support to families with children and young adults with life shortening conditions from Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas.

"So money raised at events like these make a big difference to the lives of the families who visit us."
