PATIENTS in Worcestershire are being given the chance to have their say on proposed changes to the service transporting people to and from hospital.

With the current contract for the county’s Patient Transport Service set to expire in March next year, residents are being asked for their views on how it can be improved.

The service helps patients who are unable to get to and from hospital or other healthcare appointments by themselves and is also able to provide some medical help such as oxygen.

A consultation event will be held at St Peter’s Baptist Church in Eden Close, Worcester, from 6pm on Tuesday, May 27 where residents will be able to find out more about the service and ask questions.

Project manager Ferduse Sadiq said: “It’s vital that we hear about all elements of the current service, to see if people are happy with it and receive suggestions on how it can be improved.

“I would encourage anyone who wants to find out more and have their say to attend our event taking place on Tuesday, May 27.”

Worcestershire’s three Clinical Commissioning Groups – which are responsible for organising and paying for medical services throughout the county – would also like to hear from medical and care professionals with experience of the service.

Feedback can also be sent via a survey at www.southworcsccg.nhs.uk or emailed to CCGComms@worcestershire.nhs.uk by Monday, June 2.
