A SHIPSTON charity’s lifesaving work has received a boost after a marketing and communications agency chose it as its charity of the year.

Colleagues at Creative Bridge, a Lutterworth-based PR, design and digital marketing agency, voted for Arrhythmia Alliance as their 2014 charity of the year.

It means that as well as fundraising for an AED (automated external defibrillator), the agency will donate 50 hours of free work across its specialist PR, design and digital services to benefit the charity’s campaigns over the next year.

Arrhythmia Alliance, the Heart Rhythm Charity, is currently working with Ryder Cup winning golfer Bernard Gallacher and the PGA in a lifesaving campaign to place defibrillators in golf clubs up and down the country.

Nicola Winn, managing director of Creative Bridge, said: “Colleagues chose Arrhythmia Alliance because they felt a connection with the cause and we knew we could help the charity promote the fantastic work it does to help people who suffer from arrhythmias."

The charity, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, works on a number of lifesaving initiatives to promote greater awareness and improved treatment rates for people who suffer from arrhythmias or heart rhythm disorders, which cause the heart to beat irregularly.

Trudie Lobban MBE, founder and CEO of Arrhythmia Alliance, said: “The timing could not be better as we enter out 10th year and look to place renewed effort and focus into our work to help the millions of people in the UK and around the world who have arrhythmias."

“Having the services of Creative Bridge to hand is a great boost to us and we are delighted the agency wants to fundraise for an AED as well."
