NORTH Cotswold Community Radio (NCCR) is looking to link up with businesses in the area to promote a new community volunteering initiative.

The radio station is offering a limited number of volunteering placements to people working locally so they can enhance their media skills while at the same time, taking on a volunteering opportunity within the community.

The placements can be for the short or long term and can be organised so they do not interfere with work.

Station rounder Robb Eden said: “There are numerous people working in local businesses whose jobs involve some aspect of dealing with the media and we are giving them and local businesses the chance to develop these skills and to benefit from volunteering with a not for profit organisation in their community.

"Ideally we would like some of these volunteers to work with us during our work experience week in early July.

"During the week a number of students from local schools will be working at NCCR, making programmes, copywriting, producing jingles and helping with all aspects of IT and broadcast engineering”.
